Early polls blow to Women Reservation Bill, says Moily
MADIKERI, DHNS:
Former chief minister M Veerappa Moily opined that the NDA government at the
Centre had deceived women community by announcing elections before the
completion of its term.
If the government continued, there were possibilities of passing the Women’s
Reservation Bill.
He was speaking at the Kodagu district women’s Congress meet, here on Friday. Mr
Moily said that the Congress was in favour of the Women’s Reservation Bill.
But, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee’s stand was not in favour of women.
Otherwise the bill would have been passed, he added.
State Women Congress Committee President Nagamma Keshavamurthy presided.
District In-Charge Minister Suma Vasant inaugurated the meet.
