Goa CM to oversee Russian rape probe

The Chief Minister of Goa is now personally overseeing the investigations in
the 9-year-old Russian girl rape case. The Goa government has sent a detailed
report to the Centre.
The Goa Police has released a photo of the man accused of raping the girl 3 days
ago. His accomplice, however is yet to be identified.
Police sources said the medical examination of the girl had confirmed rape.
The Russian Embassy, in a strongly worded statement yesterday expressed its
outrage over the incident and demanded "strict and efficient" measures to ensure
safety to its citizens, failing which it said it will issue an advisory to its
tourists to refrain from visiting Goa.
