Itanagar: The all arunachal pradesh students union (aapsu) has appealed to meghalaya chief minister mukut mithi to constitute a core committee to monitor roles of the state government, politicians and students in insurgency-hit tirap and changlang districts. In a memorandum to mithi here on wednesday, a copy of which was released to press, aapsu president dominic tadar said the the union in its first executive meeting held on december 22 had favoured such a committee so that the role of the state government and its stand with regard to the insurgency problem in the two districts could be monitored. the roles of mps, mlas and student leaders in those areas could also be ascertained by the committee.

The other demands of the union included day-to-day state's report on refugee problem to the centre, steps for enactment of arunachal pradesh protection of customary laws and social practice bill, 1994, meaningful steps to solve the assam-arunachal boundary dispute, revocation of ban order on school students union, reduction of sales tax and conducting of panchayat elections.
